Our Story

Beacon Blue started from my journey in wanting to serve those searching for answers and guidance in a time that is the most difficult and overwhelming. That time being when a loved one is facing a life changing event in their health or life crisis. In those moments along with theirs our life is met with uncertainty and comes to what some say, a stop. The purpose of Beacon Blue is that it will be a "start". The start of a new journey that through this site can offer you support and tools for the path ahead.

Personal Story

Facing a health challenge of my own 7 years ago and finding myself trying to get back to some normalcy and learning that what a therapist told me one day and that it was that with time I would reset myself was true. What I went through was nothing compared to what I would see my uncle go through and endure through covid and his recovery. My mother immediately after suffered a brain hemorrhage and also long recovery. They both have been affected in a life changing way both physically and emotionally to this day. Though their lives and capabilities are very different from before one thing remains constant. Their faith in God and their love for a heavenly father that has been with them every step of the way.

Through this journey I have learned a lot and faced many moments I didn't know I would get through, much less be what they needed of me.

I learned everything from personal care after a stroke, every tests/scan, medications I didn't even know how to pronounce, OT/PT, swallow studies, blood panels, to what natural remedies help and work. The list goes on. I also fortunately learned the parts of the nursing home system that are sadly to say corrupted and MUST be exposed. I have been vocal about it to anyone that would hear me and to date am fighting to bring awareness to what is really going on. This is why I have committed to advocate for our loved ones the elderly that cant speak for themselves. Unless we are present, they don't have a voice.

Theres a couple things that stood out more than anything that kept me from giving up and that was the loved one personally going through it and knowing that theres no way they can face it alone.
In the process I and you as an individual cant go through it alone either and not without help. It takes alot to get through and adjust to these new seasons but what a blessing that our loved ones have those that will be with them through the journey.

I hope this site brings comfort, encouragement to stay the course, balance to know its ok to rest and enjoy life too. Your loved one would want that for you and above all not bring harm to your own health in depriving yourself  some normalcy and rest.

Theres a vast community of those going through the same and I pray we all can find support and as I ALWAYS say
"if I/we can give a minute, a day, a week, a month or a season of hope and help it was well worth it". That moment or season helps sustain the individual fighting for their life, new way of life or the individual that has given their life to help their loved one. Its just for a season...
